Summary
NHL action resume in Week 14 of the regular season.
We are just a little more than halfway through the competition and there are some great storylines heading into what should be a very exhilarating and exciting second half.
Teams are filling out their rosters and many players who were injured are looking to come back just in time for the crucial stretch.
There is going to be a ton of ground needed to be covered with the way the top seeds are operating, but there are no exits on playoff contention just yet.
Although some managers and coaches will think their time is up, the time to come into contention has just begun.
Goals have been scored at one of the highest clips in history this season, rendering defence even more important.
Teams will need to practice their defensive sets more efficiently and implement them into game plans to succeed with winning matches.
Games have been entirely gruelling and entertaining so far in the NHL, while it’s great for the fans, players will need to be rotated for rest.
This week will be a true test of the depth of certain rosters, let’s see how they compete!

Winnipeg Jets versus Detroit Red Wings - Tuesday, January 10th, 2022
Winnipeg is reflecting a new level that they have not shown in previous seasons.
The Canadian based team is gaining huge momentum, currently sitting in second place behind the almighty Dallas Stars within their division.
The Western Conference has a lot of heavy hitters, and among them is a surprise within Winnipeg.
The Jets are playing some excellent hockey at the moment, scoring goals at will.
Their defence has also stepped up for the most part and can cover up the cracks where they are seen.
They will be hosting a Red Wings team that needs to get back on track, which could be a bloodbath for the Jets.
Look for them to take control of this game early and try to knock off the Red Wings.
Detroit needs a win to get back on the fast track to doing anything worthwhile with their season.
In order to do so, they must stop conceding goals at an all-time rate.
They are really struggling when it comes to making their skaters work against attackers.
Red Wings fans have been displeased with the effort on the offensive end as well, averaging some of the worst totals in the league.
Overall, this match must be won in their path to success, and if not, could signal some big changes.

Toronto Maple Leafs versus Boston Bruins - Saturday, January 14th, 2022
Two of hockey’s premier teams will be taking on a charge this Saturday.
A primetime game for a lot of bragging rights, both the Leafs and Bruins are looking to make statements on their season.
Favouring the Bruins in this matchup would be certainly deserved, but the Leafs have a ton of say in this contest.
The goals will be scored at a quick pace, and there will be less emphasis on defence in this one.
Ending into the net at the end of a power play must be emphasized in this game, because chances that are not picked up could end up hurting the team in the end.
