What makes the Madring circuit unique
The Madring is F1’s newest circuit, making its debut for the 2026 season. It’s a street circuit that encircles the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre and includes a variety of features, including fast sweeps, tight chicanes, and lengthy straights. Although it’s officially a street circuit, it uses a combination of public roads and private land, so it’s more of a mix between a traditional circuit and a street circuit.
One of the most distinctive features of the Madrid circuit is that the track goes through two short tunnel sections beneath an elevated motorway. In addition, many parts of the team paddock are indoors. The run between Turn 7 and Turn 9 will be a steep downhill section, with overtaking zones at Turns 1, 5, 11 and 17. Meanwhile, Turn 12 is set to be the longest banked corner in F1.
La Monumental - the longest corner in Formula 1
Turn 12, known as La Monumental, is set to be one of the most exciting features of the Madrid Grand Prix. It’s been described as one of the most ambitious design features on a Grand Prix circuit and is named after one of Spain's most prestigious bullrings.
La Monumental will be approached at speeds estimated between 180 and 200 kph. With 13.5-degree banking, cars can accelerate through the corner. The corner exit is a crest, which makes it momentarily blind for drivers and requires a high level of skill to navigate successfully.
Spanish Grand Prix 2026 betting odds at Stake
Following his incredible performance at the Italian GP, Antonelli is predictably the favourite to win the Spanish GP. However, Lando Norris and George Russell are not far behind in the betting odds. Meanwhile, Mercedes are slight favourites ahead of McLaren to be the winning constructor.

F1 bet types explained: race winner, podium finish and fastest lap
Race winner - A simple bet on which driver you think will win the race.
Top 3 - This lets you choose any driver you think will get a podium finish. Regardless of where they finish, as long as they’re in the top 3, you’ll win your bet.
Fastest lap - Bet on the driver or constructor you think will have the fastest lap during the race.
Pole position - This is a bet on the outcome of the qualifying session. Predict which driver you think will have the best result in qualifying and start the race in pole position.
Head-to-head betting - This market allows you to ignore the race result and focus on a head-to-head contest between 2 drivers. For example, you can bet that Bortoleto will finish ahead of Hulkenberg.
Winning margin - You can also bet on the winning margin, predicting how far ahead of 2nd place the winner will finish.
Will there be a safety car - The safety car is deployed to limit cars' speed, usually after a collision. You can bet on whether or not a safety car will be deployed at some point during the Madrid GP.

Updated predictions for the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix
The brand-new circuit is the biggest factor when making your predictions this race weekend. Which teams and drivers will adapt quickest to the new layout? Drivers have said overtaking is difficult here, so the qualifying session will be crucial. Meanwhile, the weather looks unlikely to affect the race, with sunny skies forecast all weekend.
Although the Madring is a street circuit, it features a balanced mix of high-speed sections and technical corners. Therefore, cars that can effectively adjust wing angle between sectors are favoured. In addition, the difficulty of overtaking during the race means that you should base your picks on the outcome of qualifying. We’re expecting Kimi Antonelli to take pole position again, a feat he’s achieved 6 times this season already. This will give him a major advantage during the race, but we expect a challenge from his teammate Russell, who has to pull out all the stops to challenge for the Championship. Meanwhile, Hamilton is our value pick to finish on the podium.
Our final podium prediction for Madrid F1 is:
Antonelli
Russell
Hamilton
